Ethics & Independence Policy

Last updated: 27/02/26

BonTech Labs is an independent publication focused on deep technical analysis of semiconductors, AI hardware, memory technologies, and compute architectures. Our responsibility is to our readers, not to manufacturers, vendors, PR agencies, or advertisers.

This Ethics & Independence Policy explains how we maintain editorial independence, manage conflicts of interest, and ensure that every piece of analysis we publish is unbiased, truthful, and technically grounded.

1. Editorial Independence

All editorial decisions — including what we cover, how we cover it, and when it is published — are made solely by BonTech Labs staff.

We do not permit:

  • Paid editorial influence

  • Sponsored manipulation of content

  • Manufacturer approval before publication

  • PR-controlled edits

  • Pay-for-placement or “advertorials” disguised as journalism

Manufacturers, OEMs, cloud providers, and suppliers have no input into our conclusions or testing methodology.

2. Hardware Samples and Review Units

If we receive hardware samples, engineering samples, or pre-production units for evaluation:

  • We disclose this clearly in the article.

  • Receiving a product does not guarantee coverage.

  • Sending a product does not guarantee a positive or favourable analysis.

  • We reserve the right to test and report performance, defects, and architectural limitations without altering results.

If a vendor attempts to influence coverage, the product will not be reviewed.

3. Conflicts of Interest

Our writers and contributors must disclose any:

  • Prior employment with manufacturers

  • Current advisory relationships

  • Investments in semiconductor companies

  • Paid consulting work

  • Personal or financial conflicts

Conflicts are disclosed when relevant, and contributors recuse themselves from coverage where necessary.

4. Advertising and Revenue Separation

Advertising on BonTech Labs — including Google AdSense or affiliate links — is handled separately from editorial work.

We maintain a strict firewall between:

  • Advertising

  • Affiliate partnerships

  • Editorial decisions

  • Testing methodology

No advertiser or partner may request coverage, influence analysis, or shape conclusions.

5. Testing Integrity

All benchmarking, power analysis, architectural commentary, and industry assessment is conducted using:

  • Transparent methodology

  • Repeatable testing

  • Declared configurations

  • Unaltered data

  • Valid comparisons

We do not accept pre-written benchmark sets from manufacturers unless clearly disclosed and independently verified.

6. Use of AI Tools

BonTech Labs may use AI tools for summarising public earnings calls, formatting tables, or structuring analysis workflows.
However:

  • All technical interpretation

  • All conclusions

  • All architectural breakdowns

  • All performance analysis

  • All writing in published articles

…is reviewed, corrected, and validated by a human editor.

AI tools do not generate original conclusions or opinions on BonTech Labs.

7. Corrections and Accountability

If an article contains a mistake:

  • We correct it quickly

  • We add a correction note

  • We explain what changed

  • We maintain a transparent revision history

We encourage readers and industry professionals to submit corrections or clarifications via:
gbonshor@bontechlabs.com

8. Our Commitment to Readers

BonTech Labs exists to provide:

  • Accurate technical analysis

  • Independent reporting

  • High-integrity benchmarking

  • Clear architectural insight

  • Honest critique of industry claims

Our readers expect clarity and honesty — and we maintain that standard across all coverage.
